how to recover for a running injury

Running feels good and it's amazing for your body. The mental and physical benefits simply can't be beat! Unfortunately, your body doesn't respond so positively and you end up injured. I've dealt with lots of injuries over the past few years of running, and it's not fun. It's not worth giving up though. With a little rest, care, and cross training, you'll be back out there in no time.

When you're injured and can't run, you might think you've ruined your efforts to get into shape. That is not true! You can stay fit through almost any injury. There are lots of different ways to get good quality cardio in. If you belong to a gym, you can use the machines like the elliptical or stationary bike. Have access to a pool? Try swimming! If you want to do at home workouts there are lots of fitness DVDs and video games that you could try.

Not being able to run can be a huge downer, especially if you really enjoy your running workouts. Keep in mind that you will be able to run again with time. Don't forget about all your running related goals, because you can still achieve them. Channel your emotion into your new workout routine so you can stay as fit as possible for when you start running again!
